In addition to his teaching, research, and service at Jacksonville
State University this Spring, Eminent Scholar Glen Browder is co-teaching,
as visiting professor, a course on national defense policy-making at the
Naval Postgraduate School.
Dr. Browder and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army Arch
Barrett are offering "The Role of Congress in the Defense Policymaking
Process" at the California school.
"This course is somewhat similar to a class that I'm teaching now here
at JSU--'Civil-Military Relations in the United States'--during our Spring
Semester", Browder said. "It allows me to contribute to America's national
security while keeping abreast of important defense issues at a critical
time in national and world history. I hope and believe that this
relationship contributes substantially to the educational experience of my
students here in Alabama." The simultaneous arrangement is possible through
an Intergovernmental Personnel Act agreement between JSU and NPS.
